While psychotherapy is a regulated health profession in Ontario, it is unfortunately not covered under OHIP, OW or ODSP.
Most extended health benefits cover psychotherapy services (typically in your health and dental insurance package from your employer). We encourage you to speak with your insurance provider about counselling services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist to determine your eligibility and approved rates of coverage. Sessions will not be reimbursed if it turns out you do not have coverage.
-
Sessions are typically 60 minutes in length. Longer sessions may be arranged at an adjusted fee. The frequency of sessions will be based on the client’s needs. Therapy will continue only so long as it is beneficial to the client. The duration of the therapy will be mutually agreed upon, and the therapist will evaluate it on an ongoing basis with the client to determine its helpfulness. Sessions may be weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly.
-
You do not need a referral to book an appointment. Anyone is welcome who requires support in reaching their therapeutic goals.
-
The fee for therapy for 60-minute sessions is $165 for individual therapy and $195 for relational therapy (i.e. couple and friendship therapy). Longer sessions will be pro-rated at the hourly session fee rate.
Some individuals are only covered by their insurance for specific services, so please check with your insurance provider on your benefits coverage. When inquiring confirm if you are covered to work with a Registered Psychotherapist.

The first session focuses on getting to know you! Before we dive into the difficulties or issues you are facing we focus on understanding who you are, identifying the important people in your life, exploring your values and beliefs, strengths and resources, as well as discussing your social location. In the subsequent session, we will identify what brings you to therapy and identify various stressors or risks. We will discuss what you hope to accomplish during therapy and will create goals together that support you in creating your desired change. After these initial sessions, the hope is for you to leave feeling more grounded with a plan in place to move forward in reaching your desired outcome.
-
Your appointment time is created and held exclusively for you. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy for all sessions scheduled.
Same-day cancellations and cancellations made within 24 hours of your session will incur a charge of the full session fee.

Somatic breathwork is a powerful practice that uses conscious breathing techniques to enhance mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. By intentionally controlling the breath, we can activate the body’s relaxation response, reducing stress and anxiety while improving focus and emotional regulation. Somatic breathwork can help calm the nervous system, facilitating a sense of peace and clarity. It can also support emotional healing by releasing trapped emotions and past traumas, allowing individuals to process and integrate difficult experiences. With regular practice, somatic breathwork can cultivate mindfulness, boost mood, and enhance self-awareness, providing a natural and effective tool for managing mental health and fostering a deeper connection to one's inner self.
-
Somatic breathwork is generally safe for most people. However, it’s essential to work with a trained therapist, especially if you have underlying medical or mental health conditions.
-
Difficult emotions might come up throughout your somatic breathwork session. Physical sensations might arise including tingling, numbness, discomfort in an area of the body that comes and go and changes in body temperature. You are encouraged to be open and curious to whatever emotional/physical experiences arise and to breathe through your experiences. You always have the option to slow your breathing and communicate with your therapist who is there to support and ground you if needed.
-
It’s common to feel lighter and a sense of calm after a somatic breathwork session. You may also feel tired or notice new perspectives and insights. A session may bring up memories which can evoke an unsettled feeling as you experience emotions. Somatic breathwork can be like an emotional detox, bringing up and releasing emotions buried in your body and mind. Your therapist will provide you with guidance on how to support yourself after your somatic breathwork session.
-
Breathwork sessions are generally 60, 90, or 120 minutes however this can be tailored to your unique needs.
-
Sessions are offered for individuals, couples, and groups.
-
A complimentary phone or video consultation occurs before booking your session to understand your therapy needs.
Rates for somatic breathwork sessions are as follows:
Group Sessions: $50/person
Individual Session: $165/hour
Couple Session: $195/hour

Ongoing guided, intensive somatic breathwork journeys (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) are a powerful self-care practice that support healing, emotional growth and recovery from trauma.
Emotions and trauma build up over years/decades and it can take several sessions to reveal, release, and process them. It is recommended to start with one or two sessions and then assess how you feel.
Somatic breathwork can also be practiced on a daily/weekly basis on your own with techniques provided by your therapist.
-
Somatic breathwork is part of psychotherapy and thus is billed as psychotherapy, which is covered by most extended health care plans. Please check with your insurance provider.
